Board Members 2016 - 2017

2016-17 Board Members of the AWRA UF Student Chapter

Ian Hahus - President
I am a PhD student in Agricultural and Biological Engineering. My research interests are in water resources and hydrologic modeling. I am working primarily on modeling a wetland system in South Florida, but I also play around with turf irrigation scheduling for fun. If you want to know more about me, just ask!

Julianne Chechanover - Vice President
I am a fourth year undergraduate student majoring in Biological Engineering with a concentration in Land and Water Resources Engineering. In the past few years, I have acquired a passion for water resources, stemming from my interest of human-environment interactions.

Noha Abdel-Mottaleb - Secretary
My name is Noha and I am a second year PhD student in the Soil and Water Science department. My research is focused in applications of floating treatment wetlands. I also love to cook, garden, and keep bees and water is essential for all of that! Having always lived near the ocean, the springs are a treasure while I spend time at UF.

Taylor Valentine - Treasurer
I am a third year Environmental Engineering student. My hobbies include kayaking, inline skating, weight lifting, cooking/eating, and traveling. I am extremely passionate about the environment, specifically the water, and love engaging with people that have the same, or even greater appreciation for the environment that surrounds us.

Carolina Restrepo - BEC Representative
I am a fifth year undergraduate student majoring in Environmental Engineering and also doing a minor in Sustainability Studies. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, and being out in nature. My ultimate goal is to make a difference and I believe Environmental Engineering will allow me to do that. Since I was very young I spent a lot of time in nature which led me to become very passionate about the environment. My appreciation for nature made me value our resources even more, especially our water resources, which are fundamental to life on Earth.
